Yup. Three ingredients and the most amazing side dish you’ve ever had. These peppers are super mild…MOST OF THE TIME. Every once in a while you may encounter a warm one but never super hot (unfortunately I didn’t have any hot ones this time). They’re the hot thing at sushi restaurants right now and I found mine at my local farmer’s market.
Here’s some fun photos of shopping at the market and the really easy recipe to make this fabulous side dish. Enjoy!
12 Shiseido peppers, with stems
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
olive oil cooking spray
I sauteed my peppers in a cast iron skillet over medium high heat after just spritzing them with a bit of cooking spray. Then I transferred them to a saucepan with the soy sauce and slow cooked them, covered, for about 10 minutes over medium heat until they softened. The liquid was absorbed and I added a few tablespoons of water halfway through.
