Hey… everyone going up and down on dukan…listen up. This diet works and when it doesnt its because you have either hit a plateau or you are cheating. I read a lot of posts that say, “i had a bad weekend” or “i ate a few bad things this week”….

YOU CANNOT CHEAT ON THIS DIET AND YOU WILL BE REWARDED. If you continue to use the book as a guide it works. Dukan says that any cheating is like bursting a balloon with a needle. I went from 121 to 101 and am now almost fighting to stablize my weight from going down anymore because i am still losing from sticking to the principles of the book. Cheating won’t work. If you hit a plateau, read the book. You need to up your water and up your walking. I would often go 2 weeks without losing a pound then suddenly drop 2 or 3. I CANNOT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH THAT THIS IS NOT LIKE ANY OTHER DIET WHERE YOU CAN JUMP ON AND OFF THE BANDWAGON. Folks…this is the easiest diet or lifestyle in the world….You can eat without portion control and with recipes like Dukanitout provides, it is a cake walk. Also, Dukan specifically says DONT DO TONS OF EXERCISE WHILE YOU ARE DIETING. Folks…I didnt do any exercise except the occasional walk and it worked. Follow it to a T and it will work. You have to want it…you have to believe in it…and it will work. Personally, I find the reward of being in shape so much more appealing than cheating. I think you really need to think about that when you reach for a cheat food. Good luck. Read the book…over and over and over. You will always pick up something new.

This is not a diet, it has re-educated my way of seeing food.
Cannot believe that I have lost over two stone since July. I have been on Consolidation since 26 November and holding steady. It really does work.

I am such a yo-yo diet person. I was relatively slim my whole life and was very active with dance. When I got to college I put on the token Freshman 15. Then after that the pounds just kept coming on. I was up to 167 before I knew it. (Typically 125). Nothing worked. I watched what I ate, I exercised, I did it all. With my wedding date looming I knew I had to do something that was sustainable. I started the Dukan diet in July and by my wedding date in late October I was down 20lbs exactly! I feel great and it has kept me motivated to stay on track. My honeymoon was a Mediterranean cruise so I was a little nervous with the all-you-can-eat mentality! However, with my new lifestyle, I never went up for seconds and I worked out 4 out of the 7 days on the ship and only gained 2 lbs which was a big accomplishment for me. I continue to go to the gym daily and this website has helped me SOOOO MUCH with my menu planning. The food is great and is a BIG part of why I could stay on this diet. Thank you everyone for everything you do on here! Keep up the good work!

It started in March of 2008 when the 4 kids that I adore bought me a WII fit and by stepping on that board, I was shown that at 250lbs. I ranked in the obese catagory. Thank you fun game! anyway, I worked out with system and then moved on to The Firm tapes in my family room. I started doing the Special K diet and after dropping almost 50lbs in 6 months, I decided to go up to our Rec Center and workout with Bea. I took a few sessions with her and I continued to do my workouts at home also, still doing the Special K plan. After 1 year I was down to 185. In December of ’09, I reached what I thought would be my goal of 170lbs. I stayed within 2lbs of that for almost a year. Last October, I started working out less and eating a little more. In 6 months time I put on 15lbs. Welllll, I just couldn’t let that happen. This past Easter my niece and I made a bet to lose some weight before our family reunion. That is when I found the Dukan Diet. I dropped those 15lbs. in the first month. I continued doing Dukan and now I am in the last phase, which should take me through the rest of time. I also found support on line with Janice at Dukanitout.com. She has great recipes to keep this diet interesting and fun. I finally have reached the number I was looking for! OVER 100lbs gone. I recently gifted myself with a new adventure and went to Priority Fitness to do a yoga class. It was great so I asked about a personal trainer. It was something I have always wanted to do. I am now working out with a great trainer and I am excited to see where this leads. This is a dangerous time of year for us with weight issues. Lots of temptations. I will hopefully stay on the right path and continue to stay as healthy as I can. I have had great support and inspiration from my 4 kids and from my nieces who are so kind with their words and encouragement. They don’t even know how much that helps. I know we shouldn’t worry about the ‘number’ (right Bob?) ,there are a lot of health benefits, but this one has taken a long time to reach and I am elated. Good Luck to all of you who struggle and just take it a day at a time.

An incredible story from an incredible woman–She inspires all of us: For most of my life I have been the “big girl” in the group. I haven’t had many relationships and always had a self esteem issue when it comes to body image. Previously, I lost 40 lbs doing the Atkins. I gained it all back plus another 20 lbs since. I was seriously considering gastric bypass surgery when a friend gave me the Dukan Diet book. I read it and felt I could do it. I wanted to do it. I needed to. I started on July 26, 2011 and lost 11 lbs in the attack phase! I was stunned. as well as very excited and inspired. I have been steadily losing weight and am now down 55 lbs. Exactly halfway to my intended 110 lbs. I am hopeful that I will be done with the cruise phase in the early spring of 2012. At this point, I have been able to control my cravings during holiday/family celebrations. I love this website, because I was getting bored with what seemed to be limited options, until I started researching diet recipes and realized there’s a whole new world of flavours and textures for me to experiment with. So far, I have gone from wearing a size 26 to a size 18. I am thinking I’ll be a size 16 by Christmas! Now won’t that be fun??

I want to thank you for all the recipes, especially muffins, that got me through the Cruise phase and am happy to report I lost 60 lbs. and have kept it off with the Consolidation phase since June 2012. Having a sweet tooth, I modified the muffin recipes a bit to suit my cravings, and having those available to me twice a day made a huge difference in my success, knowing I could have just the right amount of sweets without feeling guilty.

I was able to lose what I set out to lose before my daughter’s wedding and am so glad I did, now that I look back at all the photos. I’m certainly proud of my efforts, but even more thrilled that my daughters are proud of their mom.

Keep up the great work!
