Honey Chinese BBQ Pork
I think this pork was absolutely delicious! And I actually made it with the honey but i think Splenda will be a good stand-in til Stabilization. I’m really having a lot of fun getting recipes for all of you for the next and final stage of Dukan. I have lots of recipes with no sugar or refined flour that I can’t wait to share. This diet has made me so aware of changes I want to make for the rest of my life. I hope one day I don’t even own any white sugar. Until then, I will experiment like crazy so you will never have to buy any again! Enjoy this, and when you’re in Consolidation, or as lucky as you will be to be in Stabilization one day, make this recipe. It’s a perfect example of how we should be eating in the future. I made some chocolate chip cookies with whole wheat flour and agave syrup. Phenomenal. Will share soon!
HONEY CHINESE BBQ PORK
2 lbs lean pork, like boneless center cup chops or thinly sliced pork loin
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 t five spice powder
1 1/2 T soy sauce,
1/2 t pepper (I used a bit of red pepper flakes too)
1 t salt
5 T honey or 3 t Splenda
If using tenderloin, slice pork thinly and pound each slice til its about 1/8-inch thin. Do the same with chops, if using. Combine the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Put sauce and pork in a plastic baggie in the refrigerator for at least 5 hours to marinade. Remove from baggie, reserving sauce, and grill pork slices on a grill or grill pan until both sides are golden in color, about 2-3 minutes per side, continually brushing with reserved sauce.
