I made mine with turkey since that’s what I had thawed out and I did mine on the stove-top since I wanted it for dinner and only had an hour. This soup was really delicious. I actually made mine quite tame for me. I could’ve done super spicy but this was really flavorful without being too hot. I went for the lower dosage of spices as it is written. Anyway, this is one of the recipes that didn’t make the top 5 but wanted everyone to get a chance to see and try it themselves. Thanks, Denise!!
DENISE’S EASY BEANLESS CROCKPOT CHILI
1 1/2-2 lbs lean ground beef or turkey or lean ground pork, or any combination of the three
1 cup diced celery
1 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
6 oz can tomato sauce
2 T tomato paste
1/2 cup water
2 4 oz cans diced green chilies
1/2 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/2 t salt 1 t cayenne Pepper
3 t ground Cumin Seed
4-6 t chili powder
1/2 t curry powder
1 t oregano
Directions: In large skillet, brown ground beef & drain. Add beef & rest of ingredients to crock pot and stir. Set on HIGH for 2 hours or LOW for 4 hours, so the spices have a chance to really stew. Stir as frequently as possible. You can serve with shredded cheese if you like, nonfat sour cream, or diced onions, or a combination of all! Enjoy!
I cooked mine on the stove-top and had the chili done in about 45 minutes. Delicious, thanks Denise!
